Racing Legend Bobby Rahal Selling Exquisite Chicago Mansion for $5M
Racing Legend Bobby Rahal Selling Exquisite Chicago Mansion for M
Driver, team owner, and all-around racing legend Bobby Rahal has listed a mansion in the heart of Chicago for $5 million.
And if you’re expecting some sort of glorious man cave, bedecked with trophies, spare parts, and framed posters of cars, you’ll be surprised by this home’s formal, classic design.
The 7,000-square-foot mansion in the Windy City was fully renovated in 2007. It has seven bedrooms, six baths, and two half-baths.
Built from limestone and brick, the home combines modern conveniences with the architectural charm of a historic Lincoln Park home. There’s a dream kitchen with two dishwashers, multiple wine coolers for toasting to victory, a sound system throughout the home, and a five-stop elevator.
The home has a veranda off the master suite and a rooftop deck with gorgeous views of the Chicago skyline.
While there’s little evidence of his occupation inside the home, Rahal does have a top-of-the-line spot to store his cars. The home has a heated, three-car garage to keep a miniature fleet warm during the cold Chicago winters.
Rahal isn’t new to the neighborhood. Four years ago, he sold another Lincoln Park home for just under $4 million.
Rahal is a former racer who won three IndyCar championships and the 1986 Indianapolis 500. He is co-owner of the Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing team with late-night TV legend David Letterman.
