Memphis Grizzlies guard Ben McLemore has scored a brand-new designer home in Tarzana, CA, for $2.75 million.

Now you might be wondering what a guy who was born in St. Louis, went to high school in Virginia, played college ball for the Kansas Jayhawks, was drafted by the Sacramento Kings, and currently plays for the Memphis Grizzlies is doing with a home in Southern California.

“McLemore’s purchase of this unique offering is as a second home, while his fiancee lives in Northern California,” says listing agent Guy Azar of The Agency Calabasas.

The five-year NBA vet has lived in a lot of places, but wants to spend his downtime in SoCal. And when you can score a relative bargain on a shiny new home, you have to shoot your shot. The mansion was originally listed for $2,849,000.

“This was a super exclusive new-construction offering in the heart of Tarzana with high-end finishes and a huge, flat, and usable lot unlike anything else in the market,” Azar explains.

Previously there was a two-bedroom, ’50s-era home on the .39-acre lot. The new build, which measures 5,300 square feet, has five bedrooms and 6.5 baths. Luxe amenities include coffered ceilings, built-in cabinets and shelves, and hardwood floors. It was built for indoor-outdoor living and entertainment, with its bi-fold French doors opening to the outdoor California room.

There’s also a formal dining room, floating wine locker, and butler’s pantry. The massive chef’s kitchen has a PentalQuartz island, Thermador appliances, and walk-in pantry. Outside there’s a pool and spa with a waterfall feature; several seating areas; and, naturally, a basketball court.

Upstairs, there are three en suite bedrooms and the master suite, which comes with a large balcony, built-in dressing table, walk-in closets, and a marble bathroom with dual vanities, a soaking tub, and shower.

It’s easy to see why McLemore chose this property for his second home. Located in the desirable “South of the Boulevard” area, it’s close enough to walk to Tarzana’s trendy shops and restaurants and has easy access to the 101 Freeway. This is nothing but net as far as we’re concerned!
