Just months after securing the largest contract in sports history, Los Angeles Angels superstar Mike Trout has hooked a huge home in Newport Beach, CA. The slugging center fielder plunked down $9.15 million for the mansion.

The eight-time All Star can definitely afford it. In March, the New Jersey native made headlines when he signed a record-breaking, 12-year, $426.5 million deal to secure his future with the Halos.

Built in 1982, the mansion initially landed on the market in 2018 for $9.5 million.

Located about 20 miles from the Angel Stadium, the 9,000-square-foot mansion was completely remodeled and expanded from the foundation up, according to the listing.

With views of the ocean, harbor, Catalina, and city lights, the home has six bedrooms and 6.5 bathrooms. The front door opens to the grand living room with exposed beams and oversize fireplace.

Adjacent to the living room is the formal dining room with coffered ceiling and French doors, which open to the viewing deck. An all-new chef’s kitchen opens out to a family room with French doors across an entire wall.

The main-floor master suite comes with a fireplace and access to a private outdoor spa.

Upstairs, there are four en suite bedrooms, one of which could also work as a second master suite. An office and laundry are also on the second floor.

The home’s lower level features a full bar, wine cellar, two bathrooms, a sauna, and another bedroom or den. There’s even an elevator to shuttle between all three floors.

Outdoors, the “private backyard oasis” features a covered lanai, barbecue, pool, and spa. For pet lovers, there’s a built-in dog bath.

Since making his big-league debut in 2011 at the age of 19, Trout has established himself as the best all-around player in baseball. He’s won two MVP awards and six Silver Slugger awards along with the Rookie of the Year title in 2012.
