A sprawling ranch home in Bakersfield, CA, once owned by local legend Buck Owens has two-stepped onto the market for $575,000.

Built in 1949, the property offers a total of five bedrooms, seven bathrooms, and more than 5,000 square feet.

The three-bedroom main house features an updated kitchen with Thermador appliances and plenty of room for entertaining.

The property also includes in-law quarters with its own living room, bathroom, and kitchen. Outside, you’ll find a pool with waterfall, a four-car garage, a large workshop, and extensive patio areas.

Owens became a household name as the co-host of the hit TV show “Hee Haw,” but his recording career made him a legend. He and his band, The Buckaroos, created what would become the Bakersfield Sound, a stripped-down version of country that put the West Coast on the music map, earning it the nickname “Nashville West.”

Owens lived in this home from 1968 to 1974, according to Bakersfield Now. It’s where he wrote his No. 1 hit, “Made in Japan.”

Bakersfield is still home to the Buck Owens’ Crystal Palace, part live venue, part museum, and dedicated to celebrating the life and music of its founder and giving a new generation of musicians a friendly stage to share their songs.

Owens is forever linked with Bakersfield, and his former residence is a perfect opportunity to own a little slice of his life and legacy as a pioneer of West Coast country music.
