Bob Eubanks, Longtime Host of the ‘Newlywed Game,’ Selling .5M SoCal Home
Bob Eubanks has been a fixture in American living rooms since he began hosting “The Newlywed Game” in 1966. Now he’s hoping you’ll love the living room (and all the other rooms!) in the SoCal home he’s selling for $2.45 million.
The popular game-show host and his wife, Deborah James, bought the Mediterranean-style home in Westlake Village for $2,175,000 in 2015.
Built in 1991 and recently renovated, the five-bedroom, 5,700-square-foot home offers plenty of curb appeal thanks to a semicircular drive, fountain, and custom iron entry door. There are also plenty of lovely interior touches, including the large windows, the stacked Carrara stone fireplace in the living room, and a main bedroom suite with fireplace and dry sauna.
There are also an abundance of comfortable areas for friends to gather, including the formal dining room, a living room with a pool table, and a large kitchen with a bar. Out back, the lush yard features a custom stone patio and walkways, built-in barbecue, a fire pit, and a spacious lawn with room to run.
The home sits on a half-acre lot that’s within walking distance to shops, restaurants, parks, and trails.
Over the decades on “The Newlywed Game,” Eubanks survived many awkward moments between married couples. He also brought the socially acceptable euphemism “whoopee” into everyday vernacular.
In addition to his career on television, Eubanks was a concert promoter and television producer. He’s won nine Emmys for his work, including a Lifetime Achievement Award.
Today, he works as a corporate public speaker, according to his website.
Now, the man who questioned married couples about everything from their favorite meals to the number of shoes in their closet is trying to sell a love nest of his own.
