At $9.25 million, this massive provincial French country home in the Sunflower State will definitely make you think you’re not in Kansas anymore.

The 12,360-square-foot estate, nestled in the tony neighborhood of Mission Hills, is Kansas’ most expensive listing—and we can see why. The five-bedroom home  has “endless customized features,” according to the listing.

“It’s completely redone from top to bottom,” listing agent Sam Shaoul says. “Great lot, great neighborhood, great street.”

Visitors to the home are greeted by an open foyer before winding their way through the downstairs living spaces. A large fireplace—one of five featured throughout the home—takes center stage in the spacious formal living room, perfect for entertaining. An informal family room, eating area, and the kitchen all open into one another for seamless flow.

Oenophiles can enjoy an in-kitchen wine fridge or head to the wine cellar, which is guarded by a gate that looks straight out of “Game of Thrones.” But that’s not all! The basement entertainment area includes a home theater and enough space for pingpong or another game table. A library, office, sauna, and sunroom top off the list of indoor features.

Outside, the manicured space—part cement patio, part lush grass—is equally open for furnishing. But you’ll have a lot to work with already—there’s currently a fire pit, multiple seating and conversation areas, and a concrete dining table long enough to host a Dothraki feast.

And don’t forget the outdoor kitchen for hosting those extensive dinner parties. There’s even a covered walkway from the garage into the house to help with braving the frigid Midwestern winter weather.

“There’s not a single iota in that house that is not in good condition,” Shaoul says.

One of the biggest draws, though is the home’s location: “Every state has a fantastic neighborhood, and Mission Hills is the best in Kansas,” he says.

Mission Hills was incorporated as its own city in 1949. In 2011, Forbes named it the third-wealthiest municipality in the country, with one of the highest median incomes ($243,000) in both the state and the U.S. For teen TV fans, it’s also where the main characters of ABC Family’s “Switched at Birth” make their fictional home.

According to Shaoul, the area “attracts a lot of people who would like to make it home for a long period of time.

“The ideal buyer could be professional people, people who are moving up from within the city,” he says. “Or people who are moving into Kansas City who would like to have an ideal property in superb condition and an exclusive, wonderful neighborhood.”
