Former Pittsburgh Steeler Troy Polamalu just snagged a trophy home for $9 million in the tony community of Rancho Santa Fe, just outside of San Diego. The Spanish-style mansion first came on the market for $9.9 million in May.

The 3.25-acre property includes a main house and three guesthouses—with a total of seven beds and 10.5 baths. The property, which last changed hands in 2011, when it sold for $5.8 million, was rebuilt by Emilio & Sons, B&W Architects, and designer Lisa Butterbrodt, according to the listing.

Constructed around a 200-year-old oak tree, the custom compound features a striking entryway to the living rooms, a formal dining room with walk-in wine cellar, main chef’s kitchen, and walls of glass that open to the outside.

From the residence, tree-lined promenades stretch from the tennis court past the first guesthouse and the main pool to guesthouses two and three. And, yes, there’s more than one pool.

The main house has four bedroom suites, including the master with dual baths, oversize closets, and a private patio.

Other amenities include a theater with a full kitchen and bathroom, a bar with viewing screens, a gym, a three-car garage, as well as a five-car showroom.

Outdoors there’s a pool pavilion, main pool and spa, as well as a separate lap pool. You can entertain guests in the outdoor kitchen and grill, or simply relax by the fire pit and take in the lawns, rose gardens, and vegetable gardens.

High-end details include antique oak floors imported from France, tiles imported from Morocco, along with 14 fireplaces.

Known for his long locks, Polamalu certainly earned the right to relax in such a serene sanctuary. The safety played his entire career with the Steelers, from 2003 to 2014, notching two Super Bowl wins, four All-Pro titles, and NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2010. He announced his retirement in 2015.

In July, the California native was named head of player relations for the Alliance of American Football.
