Former Time Warner CEO Jeff Bewkes has picked up a posh Greenwich Village apartment for $5.65 million.
The champion of groundbreaking shows such as “The Sopranos” and “Sex and the City” now has his own pad in New York City.
According to the listing, the gut-renovated unit offers modern improvements while “retaining the home’s rich prewar aesthetic.”
Built in 1924, the 16-floor, 60-unit building is located in the Greenwich Village Historic District. Residents enjoy full-time door attendants, a live-in superintendent, and storage.
Upon entering the spacious three-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom residence, a formal foyer leads to a huge great room. A wall of windows provides a light-filled space for dining and entertaining. Luxe touches include herringbone-patterned floors and custom millwork.
The kitchen gets plenty of natural light thanks to windows and features custom cabinetry, marble countertops, and a breakfast bar.
A large master retreat includes a big walk-in closet as well as an en suite bath with heated marble floor and dual vanities. Other highlights include refinished hardwood floors in the bedrooms, a washer and dryer, beamed ceilings, recessed lighting throughout, and a home office.
Bewkes served as CEO of Time Warner from 2008 through 2018. In 2016, AT&T agreed to buy Time Warner for $85.4 billion. In 2017, the 67-year-old announced he would leave the company on the completion of the merger, which wrapped up in 2018.
Along with his Manhattan digs, Bewkes reportedly purchased a waterfront home in Greenwich, CT, for $19 million in 2015, a record for the area at the time.
