Former UCLA Bruins basketball coach Steve Alford has diagrammed a plan to sell his Calabasas, CA, home. He was fired by the school at the tail end of 2018, so he’s letting go of his SoCal home for $2.7 million.

Located in the guard-gated community of Mountain View Estates, the Mediterranean mansion last changed hands in 2013 for $2.475 million, the year Alford joined UCLA as head coach.

The house was built in 1994, and the layout features six bedrooms, seven bathrooms, and 7,239 square feet of interior space. It’s filled with plenty of custom details.

In the family room, a new owner can entertain guests at the built-in bar. Adjoining the family room, the eat-in kitchen includes updated copper sinks, a new fridge, two dishwashers, and views outside. There’s also the possibility of movie night in a home theater that features lounging recliners.

There are six ensuite bedrooms, two downstairs and four upstairs. The master suite includes dual closets and a fireplace, along with a private sitting room. Pristine hardwood covers the floors in every bedroom.

Outside is a lush and private property that’s set on one of the largest lots in the community, with more than a half-acre of land. Along with an outdoor dining area, the space boasts a built-in barbecue, large grassy yard, and putting green. UCLA’s former coach left his mark, with a basketball court emblazoned with Bruins colors.

A covered patio with ceiling fans looks out to a pool with water features and a spa.

A legend with the Indiana Hoosiers during his college playing days, Alford, who is now 54, moved to coaching college basketball in 1991 after a brief NBA career. After moving through a number of smaller schools, he signed on with UCLA in 2013 and led the team to four NCAA Tournament appearances before his ouster. Shortly after his exit from the Bruins, the Indiana native signed a 10-year deal to coach the University of Nevada Wolf Pack.
