The legendary boxer Sugar Ray Leonard has listed his family home in Pacific Palisades, CA, for a staggering $52 million. Suffice to say, the sweet science has been kind to the champ.

Weighing in at over 16,000 square feet in a stylish SoCal enclave known as Palisades Riviera, the property spans a lush, 2-acre lot graced with multiple gardens.

Leonard and his wife, Bernadette, built the dramatic, ivy-draped home 22 years ago. The property includes a seven-bedroom main house and a two-story guesthouse adjacent to the pool. The interiors feature six European fireplaces, stone floors imported from Jerusalem, a solarium, media room, and, of course, a large gym.

“This home has been a peaceful oasis offering incredible privacy and superior amenities to raise our family,” Mrs. Leonard said in a statement. “We’ve been blessed to have a space allowing us to host both intimate family gatherings and sizable fundraisers. My hope is that the future owner will cherish this home as much as our family has.”

Built with oodles of Old World grandeur, the light-filled home strikes a decidedly livable balance between living on a large scale and rustic warmth.

Other multimillion dollar mansions currently on the market in the Riviera area strike a more modern tone by comparison with Leonard’s luxurious lair. “This estate is truly an exquisite property, exuding European charm with serene living,” says listing agent Jade Mills.

Outdoors, in addition to the lush grounds, which are secured behind double gates, the property includes a tennis court, a putting green, and both intimate and large spaces for entertaining.

Now the Leonard family is looking to trade in the home they’ve occupied for nearly 25 years for something new, the lucky buyers have the opportunity to make this oasis something special of their very own.

Leonard, 63, began his boxing career with a gold medal at the 1976 Olympic Games. After turning pro, he won world titles in five different weight divisions. Considered one of the best boxers ever, he earned over $100 million for his work in the ring.
