Pugnacious sportscaster Howard Cosell was larger-than-life behind the microphone. However, a modest, midcentury modern home he once owned in Westchester County, NY, hints at a much quieter life away from the bright lights of broadcasting.

According to the listing details provided by brokerage Houlihan Lawrence, a home in Pound Ridge, NY, that’s now on the market for $550,000 once belonged to the longtime voice of ABC Sports.

Built in 1952, the home features four bedrooms, three full bathrooms, and two half-bathrooms spread just over 3,000 square feet. It’s not a grand mansion by any stretch of the imagination, but a closer look reveals a stylish, sophisticated living space, situated on almost 4.5 bucolic acres far from the hustle and bustle of Manhattan.

Notable midcentury modern details include a masonry rock wall fireplace in the center of the primary living space, vaulted and beamed ceilings, cantilevered steps and walls of windows that let in sunlight and create a connection with the natural surroundings.
