Former Dallas Cowboy Terence Newman spent nine seasons in the Lone Star State, but now he’s ready to pull up one of his roots.

As part of his transition into coaching—and to the state of Minnesota—the ex-cornerback has listed his $2.25 million home in Dallas. Newman, who retired in 2018, currently serves as a defensive coach for the Minnesota Vikings.

The 3,633-square-foot contemporary home has three bedrooms and 3.5 baths. It’s located in a gated community surrounded by Turtle Creek and Katy Trail, and is close to the restaurants and shops of the Uptown neighborhood.

The home was built in 1981 and purchased by Newman in 2010. It sits about 20 miles east of AT&T Stadium, where America’s Team plays on Sundays in the fall.

Updated and modernized, the chef’s kitchen is highlighted by a Wolf six-burner gas range and Sub-Zero refrigerator. Additional perks include an elevator, room-to-room surround sound, landscape lighting, and vaulted ceilings. Big windows throughout the home offer views of the picturesque natural surroundings.

The Kansas native played three seasons for the Vikings at the tail end of his 15-year NFL career. He earned All-American honors at Kansas State University, before eventually being drafted by Dallas in 2003. After nine seasons as a Cowboy, Newman signed with the Cincinnati Bengals for three seasons before joining the Vikings in 2015.

Newman told the Dallas Cowboys‘ official site in 2016 about his experience being drafted by the fabled franchise: “Getting to meet a bunch of guys and realizing that my childhood dream had reached fruition. Everybody dreams of making it. Meeting Larry Allen and Woody [Darren Woodson] and a bunch of those guys, I watched them as a kid, so that’s something that was pretty special.”

The listing is being represented by T.J. Frank of Rogers Healy and Associates.
