Former White House deputy chief of staff Karl Rove is lobbying to sell his home in West Lake Hills, TX, for $2.8 million.

Known by former President George W. Bush as “the Architect” of his successful presidential bids, the Republican political consultant is now strategizing how to sell his contemporary home in the Austin suburbs.

And while Rove isn’t noted for his sense of humor, we can’t help but note the bright-blue balloon dog sculpture stationed right outside the front door. It looks as if the consultant knows a thing or two about cheery curb appeal.

On a single story, the home, with its breezy open plan, features two bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. Sitting on 2.39 acres, the grounds include a lap pool, patios, decks, a pergola, and a separate guesthouse.

With 3,556 square feet of interior space, the property’s architectural flourishes include high ceilings, wide-plank floors, and walls of windows and doors.

The living and dining areas include built-in bookshelves ready to please any bibliophile. The modern kitchen contains a center island, Silestone counters, and a walk-in pantry. It opens out to the family room and dining area.

In addition, the space features a master suite with dual baths, outdoor access, and a “spectacular” closet.

Outside, find a screened-in porch, an outdoor dining area, and multiple seating areas and patios throughout the grounds.

Rove has roots in Texas—he attended college there, and it’s where his political consulting work for Texas politicians took off.

In 2009, the Republican operative made real estate headlines when he sold his three-story brick home in D.C., which he had bought in 2001. Purchased for $799,000, the five-bedroom abode had been listed for $1.59 million.

Rove currently serves as a political analyst and contributor to Fox News, Newsweek, and The Wall Street Journal.
