Rule the Roost! 8 Turkey Farms on Sale Just in Time for Thanksgiving

Scrapping the big city in favor of a quiet Pilgrim’s life in the country may sound like a far-off dream, but it’s actually more attainable than you might think. In fact, there are several turkey farms for sale across the country, at shockingly reasonable prices.

Consolidation, regulation, and the squeeze from big agribusiness have made turkey farming way less profitable for mom and pop operations. According to Politico, Virginia farmer Bill Turner made between $2.25 and $2.50 per turkey 25 years ago. Today, he earns just $1.35.

This market shift has left many farmers looking for a way out of the business—and motivated to sell their land. This means there are some great deals for buyers looking for acreage.

Just in time for Thanksgiving, we’ve found eight turkey farms on the market, waiting for buyers with an eye for poultry to take a chance on a flock of turkeys.
