Pop star Demi Lovato‘s Los Angeles–area home has been on the market for several months now, and she’s dropped the price from $9,500,000 to $8,995,000. And now she’s put another option on the table: renting it out for $39,500 per month.
Lovato bought the place in Hollywood Hills for $8.3 million in September 2016. The 5,546-square-foot house has four bedrooms and five bathrooms. It’s located on a quiet street above the Chateau Marmont, just minutes from the glamour of Sunset Boulevard, and offers views from downtown to the Pacific Ocean.
The lot measures over an acre, although a portion of that is steep hillside. But the outdoor space includes a zero-edge pool, barbecue area, lawns (one with a teepee), lounging areas, and a trail to a covered gazebo.
Inside, the home is ideal for entertaining, with its upper level featuring a bar and media room, which opens to a spacious terrace.
The downstairs has an open floor plan with ample light and outdoor access thanks to the Fleetwood pocket doors and floor-to-ceiling windows.
The chef’s kitchen has high-end appliances, marble countertops, and easy access to the recreational facilities outdoors.
Now, as gorgeous as the home seems, you might be wondering why it hasn’t been snapped up already. Well, the place does come with a bit of baggage. In early 2017, before Lovato even moved in, downpours caused a landslide that sent an estimated 20 tons of rocks and mud cascading onto her new driveway.
The hillside has since been secured, of course, but last summer Lovato was removed from the home by paramedics after an apparent overdose. It’s safe to say that the home has not been the site of domestic bliss for the 26-year-old singer, songwriter, and actress.
But that doesn’t mean the new owner, or renter, can’t be blissfully happy in this beautiful home.
