Lots of folks go to Florida for the beaches, but the state is also a destination for those with a hankering for equestrian life. In fact, two Florida towns make EQ Living’s top places to live for horse lovers.

As for where to go in the Sunshine State—Wellington is the place to be for all things equine-related. The town hosts top equestrian events and boasts a number of sprawling horse-friendly estates. And the beach being a mere half-hour away doesn’t hurt.

Right now, there are 20 equestrian estates available in Wellington priced over $10 million. However, a really rare opportunity has landed on the market for $28,750,000.

“The location is what makes this one so special,” says listing agent Carol Soliak. “You can actually see the horse shows. This is where the prestigious Winter Equestrian Festival is held, and you can literally see the show from the property.”

Wellington is also the spot for year-round horse events. “The area showcases the best of every discipline,” says Soliak.

The sprawling estate includes 20 acres and all the amenities a horse lover could want: a 20-stall barn, an all-weather riding arena, and grass Grand Prix ring. The property also comes with access to a winding trail system perfect for a leisurely trot.
