First Look! Property Brothers Selling M Dream Home Near Las Vegas

“Property Brothers” stars Jonathan and Drew Scott are known for their impeccable eyes for home renovations. Riding a wave of popularity, the HGTV stars have extended their brand into home furnishings and a decor line known as Scott Living.

They’re now attempting their most ambitious project yet: a branded move into bespoke luxury design and construction. Their first effort has hit the market with a list price of $4,995,000.

Under the auspices of Dream Homes by Scott Living, the brothers have partnered with Las Vegas architecture and construction firms to create designs for ultraluxe homes. Ground has been broken on the first home, and although it’s not expected to be finished until early next year, it’s available for sale.

The planned 8,600-square-foot home with five bedrooms and 8.5 baths is underway in a new gated community known as MacDonald Highlands. Located in Henderson, it’s about 20 minutes from the Las Vegas Strip. However, residents will be able to soak in views of the bright lights—this home is being built on an elevated half-acre lot.

An additional perk? Jonathan and Drew were on hand for the groundbreaking, and they will also be present at the official housewarming for whoever buys the home, according to listing agent Kenneth H. Lowman of Luxury Homes of Las Vegas.

“The floor plan is magnificent,” says Lowman. The floor-to-ceiling, disappearing glass doors are conducive to indoor-outdoor living and make the home seem more spacious than it is, he adds.

Renderings of the home show an elevated pool and spa, an abundance of uniquely shaped windows, and plenty of sheltered entertaining space outdoors. These elements create a sleek look that’s anything but cookie cutter.

Although no interior renderings are available, buyers are promised a chef’s kitchen, a climate-controlled wine room, a generous master suite with a luxurious bath, a game room with a wet bar, an elevator, and covered accommodations for 11 cars.

One of those garages is a two-story, air-conditioned space that could easily accommodate a sport court. Lowman says if a buyer chooses to finish the space, it will add 1,900 square feet to the home’s total.

There will be a covered, outdoor movie theater, he adds. And that sounds like a signature design feature the fun-loving brothers would concoct.

They have also selected high-end fixtures and finishes. Flooring, tile, cabinets, and hardware selections are available for interested buyers to peruse. The planned palette is neutral featuring modern desert colors.

The Scott brothers “have a flair for what’s popular and in style, and not only what will sell, but what will last,” says Lowman.

But if you’d like a greater say in a Scott brothers’ project, a quicker purchase means you’ll have more say in the finished product. The builders are willing to make allowances tailored to buyers’ tastes.

Features can be changed.

The warm, dry climate and the lack of state taxes make this buying opportunity extremely appealing, says Lowman, who has seen the inflow of buyers headed east on Interstate Highway 15.

“Many luxury home buyers are coming in from California,” says Lowman.

There are several home plans in the Scott Living portfolio, ranging in size from 5,500 to over 10,000 square feet. Buyers purchase a plan and a lot, and the brothers can adapt the homes to specific locations in the community.

However, buyers will have to do their own negotiations to secure the brothers for a housewarming appearance. Their first project is the only purchase where their presence is a given.

The “Property Brothers” stars broke ground on the project.
