This just in: “60 Minutes” correspondent Scott Pelley has placed his Darien, CT, home on the market for $3.25 million.

Which is a much lower ask than the $4 million the journalist paid for the place in 2007. Putting a home up for a loss isn’t ideal, but it seems realistic in this case. Estimates on nearby properties range from a little over $1 million to a high of $3.7 million. And perhaps Pelley would like to make a quick exit.

It’s possible to commute into Manhattan, home of CBS’ headquarters, but it’s almost an hourlong drive. On the plus side, this Connecticut retreat allows a buyer to enjoy the perks of suburban life.

The “sensational” center-hall Colonial, built in 1998, features five bedrooms, seven bathrooms, and 2.4 acres of landscaped grounds on a “sought-after” cul-de-sac.

You’ll enter to find a dramatic double staircase flanked by the formal dining and living rooms. Then, you can head over to the kitchen, which has a large island with bar seating, plenty of cabinets for storage, and a casual dining area. The area is adjacent to the family room, and both offer views of the property and pond.

Other living spaces include the master suite, with a huge walk-in closet, a library, wood-paneled office,  terrace, and finished basement.

Pelley, 61, has been a reporter for over 45 years. He was best known as the anchor and managing editor of “CBS Evening News” from 2011-2017. He now claims he was ousted from his role at the helm of the show because he complained about the hostile work environment at CBS News.

He’s now a full-time correspondent for “60 Minutes.” In 2016, Pelley was awarded the Walter Cronkite Award for Excellence in Journalism. He recently authored the book “Truth Worth Telling.”
