Brian Geraghty, best known for his roles in films such as “The Hurt Locker” and TV shows like HBO’s “Boardwalk Empire,” is selling his beautiful boathouse-style home in L.A.’s Hollywood Hills neighborhood for $800,000.

The home, designed by star architect Harry Gesner, sits atop a hill with enviable views of the surrounding mountains, the famous “Hollywood” sign, and the city skyline below.

Built in 1959, the home has two bedrooms, one bathroom, and just over 1,100 square feet. The floor plan features cathedral ceilings and large windows designed to take advantage of the vistas.

The home is located near L.A. hot spots like Runyon Canyon and Sunset Boulevard. It’s an ideal location for an up-and-coming actor to network with studio bosses and become immersed in the Hollywood scene.

There’s no word on why Geraghty is selling, but based on his recent career successes, including six Emmy nominations for his current show, “The Alienist,” it might be time for a real estate upgrade to celebrate.

Growing up in Toms River, NJ, Geraghty said he was always drawn to the beach rather than school.

“I was a surf bum … and kind of directionless,” he recently told New Jersey Monthly.

With a hit show and critical acclaim, Geraghty might be looking for something a little closer to the water. In the event he’s searching for another home designed by Gesner, there’s good news: The architect designed homes in nearby Malibu for beach bums with an affinity for top-notch Mid-Century Modern design.

While Geraghty bids his house adieu, buyers in the market for something special in Los Angeles should take a second look at this piece of architectural history. It’s ready for someone new to enjoy it, sailing high over L.A. with endless views of a bright horizon ahead.
