M for a Mobile Home?! Well, It’s in Malibu and Belongs to Betsey Johnson

Malibu‘s Paradise Cove is unlike any other mobile home park in the United States. The pristine park is gated and situated on a famous beach crammed with remarkable beach views and interesting neighbors.

Now, there’s a chance to buy what is arguably the most prominent trailer in the park. Legendary fashion designer Betsey Johnson recently listed her hot-pink beach residence for $1.95 million.

The two-bedroom, two-bathroom bohemian-style mobile home features Johnson’s unique style, with crystal chandeliers and brightly colored bedrooms in shades of yellow and turquoise, not to mention the hot-pink exterior.

But if you can see past all of Johnson’s brightly colored furniture, rugs, and accessories, you’ll find white walls and classic wood flooring. The bathrooms have been updated in fresh white and gray neutrals, and the kitchen has top-grade, stainless-steel appliances.

The grounds feature lush, tropical landscaping, with a secret garden-style, pergola-covered outdoor living room, several whimsical seating areas, and an outdoor clawfoot soaking tub. They’re all private, thanks to the surrounding palms and other mature foliage.

The Paradise Cove community sits on a cultivated hillside overlooking the Pacific Ocean, and features 24-hour, guard-gated entry, a community tennis court, and clubhouse. Residents also have access to a gorgeous beach, as well as a seaside seafood restaurant that makes you feel as if you’re on vacation the second you’re seated.

Johnson, “known for her celebration of the exuberant, the embellished and the over the top,” as the official bio on her website puts it, “has been rocking the fashion industry with her unique and original designs since the 1960s.” At 77, she remains active in the fashion world and frequently appears on television.
