A 69-storey condominium starts construction in Phnom Penh

Chinese construction company, Morgan Ford, has invested US$ 600 million to build a 69-storey skyscraper along the Mekong River, in the central of Phnom Penh.

The 69-story condominium building, Morgan En Maison with 220 meters high, is located on the Mekong River in Chroy Changva district, was officially launched its construction last week, according to Ding Yongjun, managing director of Morgan Ford writing on their official Facebook page on 25 November.

“This condominium has five U-shaped units on a total of 2.4 hectares. All the buildings have a total floor area of ​​more than 400,000 square meters,” and the building is expected to be completed in 2022, the source said.

H.E Hor Namhong, Deputy Prime Minister, said that the construction of skyscrapers in Phnom Penh is a contribution to the development of the construction sector and has enhanced the beauty of the city, and increased employment opportunities for the Cambodian people, the source added.

Bonna Realty Group, a real estate company, just released a report in October that showed that Phnom Penh currently has the building from 100-meter tall, totaling 23 buildings, among them the above 150-metter tall, totaling six buildings, while the Morgan En Maison will add another record among one of the tallest building in Cambodia.
