Advantage, Buyer: Tennis Legend Chris Evert Slices M From Price of Florida Compound
Tennis legend Chris Evert is serving up her sprawling 5-acre estate in Boca Raton, FL, at a discount—she recently slashed $1 million off the price. The gated compound was initially listed a year ago for $6 million.
The compound was designed for an active athlete who enjoys outdoor living, featuring a pool and par-3 golf hole. Naturally, there’s a tennis court. If it happens to be raining out, you can retreat to an indoor game room with a pool table and a well-equipped fitness room.
The 12,000-square-foot, Spanish-style estate was built in 1995 and comes with a nine-car garage, main house, two guesthouses, a barn, horse trails, and much more.
Evert and her husband at the time, Olympic skier Andy Mill, purchased the home in 2003 for $2.8 million. They raised their three sons there.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Evert now has an empty nest with all her children out of the home. But she isn’t likely to leave Boca for good, because she operates a tennis camp bearing her name in the area.
Perhaps if you buy the house, she’ll come over and give you a few tennis pointers or even show you her famous two-fisted backhand.
