Want to live in an area where real estate is blazin’ hot? Head to the Golden State—eight out of the 10 hottest markets for housing in March are in California, according to the latest research from realtor.com®.

Thanks to an influx of willing buyers and an economic boom, California rules in terms of housing heat. Listings for the hot markets listed below see at least two times the activity of listings in other parts of the country.

In addition, homes in these hot metros disappear from the market much faster: They get snapped up a month faster than homes around the country on average.

To give you a taste of what’s for sale in these desirable locales, we found one cool home currently for sale in each town. It isn’t exactly easy to buy into these hot metros, so hold on to your wallet and take a look.
