Steve Jobs‘ biographer Walter Isaacson and his wife, Cathy, have found a buyer for their townhouse in Washington, DC, which was listed in December for nearly $5 million and recently went under contract.

Built in 1801, the seven-bedroom, five-bath home sits in the heart of DC’s historic and prestigious Georgetown neighborhood. The white-brick, Federal-style house has six fireplaces, a library with a beamed ceiling, formal dining room with floor-to-ceiling built-in bookcases, galley kitchen with white subway tile and black-and-white granite counters, and sunroom that looks out on a flagstone patio and strip of lawn.

Best of all, the property has parking for three cars, which is a huge plus for a Georgetown location.

“It’s a perfectly located Federal house that goes through the whole block,” says listing agent Jamie Peva of Washington Fine Properties, who sold the Isaacsons the 5,000-square-foot house in 2003 for $2.6 million.

According to Peva, the new buyer is a businessman who previously lived in Georgetown, worked for a while in London, and is ready to return to the nation’s capital.

Isaacson, who recently stepped down as CEO of the DC–based Aspen Institute think tank, is best known for his 2011 biography of Jobs, founder of Apple. He’s also chronicled the lives of Albert Einstein, Henry Kissinger, and Benjamin Franklin, who died only 11 years before Isaacson’s Georgetown home was built.

Isaacson, 64, is reportedly taking a teaching job at Tulane University in New Orleans, where he grew up.
