Chip and Joanna Gaines’ Target Collection: 6 Home Decor Items That Will Sell Out Fast

Now’s your chance to bring a little piece of Chip and Joanna Gaines‘ signature modern farmhouse style into your humble abode. The “Fixer Upper” duo’s latest big project (since announcing they’re putting the kibosh on their HGTV show) is called Hearth & Hand, a home decor collection that will be sold exclusively in Target in collaboration with their über-popular home and lifestyle brand, Magnolia.

We’ve already started making our wish list for the 300-piece collection that drops on Nov. 5, but with so many choices, we wanted the scoop on the pieces that are bound to sell out in record time. So we tapped our favorite interior decor experts and asked them to weigh in on the items you need to grab fast before they’re gone forever. After all, Magnolia Market had a heck of a time keeping a pumpkin chai candle in stock, so we wouldn’t expect anything less from a collection of well-priced, trendy items with the Chip-and-Jo stamp of approval.

1. Foldable storage bin

This utilitarian storage bin does double duty as a tote.

The consensus among the design-minded folks we spoke to is that this fabric storage bin ($26.99, target.com) will fly off the shelves. It looks great as a permanent storage solution in your family room, but it also works as a grab-and-go tote.

“It’s the perfect size and can be used for everything from toting groceries to a baby bag,” says Lisa Haude, an interior designer and CEO of Paradigm Group in Houston.

Plus, this bin has a stylish edge on similar storage options.

“The problem with most fabric storage bins is that they look cheap and are only available in a cube shape,” says Jeffrey Miller, founder of AE Home Group, a team of real estate agents in Baltimore. “The Hearth & Hand bin features leather accents that give it a quality look.”

Interior designer Lesley Myrick agrees. “The stitching details and textured finishes give it the look of a much more expensive piece,” says the owner of Lesley Myrick Art + Design and Waco, TX, native.

2. House lanterns

Gather these lanterns together or display one by itself. Either way, they give off a homey vibe that’ll make anyone feel welcome.

The best kind of home decor accessory is one with classic style that can stand the test of time. Such is the case with these matte black lanterns ($19.99 and up, target.com) that resemble little houses.

“They’re a staple for any home,” says interior designer Suzanne Falk of Suzanne Falk Interior Design in Riverwoods, IL. “These look great on a table, on a porch, or even in a bathroom, and they’re at a price point where you can purchase more than one and not break the bank.”

3. Mirrored brass tray

This tray with a neutral brass trim is one of the most versatile pieces in the collection.

We’re sensing a trend with the must-have items in this collection: The best ones can be used in a variety of ways! Take this mirrored brass tray ($24.99, target.com), for example. It can hang on your wall as a small accent mirror or serve as a chic tray to hold odds and ends.

“It’s one of those versatile pieces that will feel fresh even in a few years,” Myrick says.

“It’s perfect for over an entryway table or to complement a vintage vanity,” says Sarah Karakaian, a designer and property manager with Nestrs.

4. Embroidered X-pattern throw pillow

The neutral color and sweet embroidered detail make this pillow a must-buy.

Although these pieces are by no means one of a kind, this pillow ($24.99, target.com) appears to be hand-embroidered.

“Pillows with embroidery always add a bit of intrigue and texture to the space,” says Ashley Rose Marino, an interior decorator in the Dallas–Fort Worth, TX, area. “I bet that most people will realize that this cute neutral pillow will go well in any space, so expect this item to sell out quickly.”

5. Goat bookends

These bookends are quirky, yes, but they make a statement and will round out any bookshelf display.

“Are goat bookends [$19.99, target.com] a bit silly and out of the ordinary for most homes? Of course they are,” says Marino. But they add that bit of quirk that most homes lack.

“They’re neutral and add an interesting texture to the look of any shelf,” she says. “Plus, they get bonus points since they’re an instant conversation starter.”

6. Pressed-glass photo frame

Hang this photo frame on the wall, or use the stand in the back to display your favorite photo on a table.

A minimalist alternative to the humble picture frame, this pressed-glass frame ($12.99, target.com) is a must-have largely because the price can’t be beat.

“I just saw a similar frame in the same size at another store for three times the price,” says Falk. Because it won’t weigh heavy on your wallet, she recommends purchasing more than one to bring a cohesive look to your space.
