Chom Chao Flyover and Subway Reach 80% Completion

Construction of Chom Chao flyover and subway has so far reached 80 percent completion, with some parts opened for public usage to ease congestion in the area, according to the Phnom Penh Department of Public Work and Transports on August 20, 2021.

Breaking ground in 2018, the Chom Chao overpass and underpass project is scheduled for completion by March 2022 with a period of 30 months for construction. At present, it is being developed by Overseas Cambodia Investment Corporation (OCIC) with approximate budget of $22 million dollars.

For this project, there will be two roads: the 470m long and 8.5m wide single-way underpass connecting NR4 to Russian Federation Boulevard and the 116m long and 5.5m wide one-way traffic connecting NR4 to NR3.

It is worth noting that Chom Chao flyover will be Phnom Penh’s sixth flyover followed by Phsar Dei Huy, Kbal Thnal, Stung Meanchey, 7 Makara and 5 Pram Makara.
