Houston Astros owner Jim Crane is letting go of his posh property in Pebble Beach, CA, for $24.95 million.

The Modern property, which was built in 1951, first arrived on the market two years ago for $37.9 million. The price was subsequently slashed to $29.9 million, but no buyer stepped up to the plate.

According to news reports at the time of the original listing, the Texas businessman bought the golfer’s dream retreat over 20 years ago, for $5.5 million.

Originally designed by San Francisco architect Germano Milono with landscaping by architect Thomas D. Church, the contemporary home, with its walls of glass, vaulted ceilings, and multiple patios, offers jaw-dropping views.

“The fact that it’s perched on a 9-acre parcel overlooking Carmel Beach, Pebble Beach Golf Links, and the Pacific Ocean is incredible,” says listing agent Nicholas Glaser. “There are not too many more properties in Pebble Beach with this much acreage.”

Even if you’re not into golf, the property is a standout. The main residence is made up of three bedroom suites, a formal living room, dining room, library, family room, wine cellar, and kitchen.

Through sliding glass doors, the interior space expands out to the impressive 9-acre landscaped grounds, including an infinity pool, a fire pit, bocce ball court, gardens, and a greenhouse.

Luxury features include a pool house with a gym, as well as a cabana with a guest suite. And a separate guest cottage offers a full kitchen, living space, and three ensuite bedrooms. In addition, a one-bedroom caretaker cottage completes the offering.

In all, the combined living space features eight beds, 9.5 baths, and 11,903 square feet.

Now 65, Crane is chairman and chief executive of Crane Capital Group, as well as the owner of the Houston Astros baseball team, which he bought in 2011 for a reported $680 million. Ranked as the No. 1 CEO golfer by Golf Digest, he also owns the Floridian National Golf Club.
