Stueng Trang-Krouch Chmar Bridge Construction Completes 75 Percent

Construction of Stueng Tranng-Kroch Chmar Bridge, linking Kampong Cham province and Tbong Khmum province has finished 75 percent of construction as of December.

The Ministry of Public Works and Transport updated the progressing of construction on December 25.

The ministry said the ministry’s working group in charge on the project asked the construction company to pay attention on the impact of construction like dust pollution and equip safety materials at the construction site.

The ground-break ceremony of the bridge construction was held February 2918.

The 42-month construction is being undertaken by the Shanghai Construction Group with the bridge expected to be open by 2021.

Funded by USD57 million concessional loan from China, the project includes the bridge and the connecting roads nearby.

The bridge is a continuous box girder design spanning 1,131 metres and 13.5 metres wide, connects Stueng Trang District, Kampong Cham Province to Krouch Chmar District, Tboung Khmum Province across the Mekong river
