Two-time World Series champion Aubrey Huff has placed his home in Solana Beach, CA, on the market for $2,275,000.

The 42-year-old former slugger bought the newly built beach house in May of last year for $2.1 million.

Now, the home is back on the market after Huff and his ex-wife decided to move their family up the coast.

“My ex-wife and I share custody of our children, and we both want a fresh start after our divorce,” Huff says. “A change of scenery to Newport is what we all want as a family.”

Even so, the scenery is quite spectacular in the home Huff is leaving behind. Located in a seaside community about 30 minutes from downtown San Diego, the sleek home is just blocks from the beach.

The property comes with a sun deck, roof deck with fire pit, and outdoor dining space.

The 2,684-square-foot home has three bedrooms, 3.5 baths, and wood floors throughout. The sun-saturated living and dining space on the second floor opens to a balcony. Done up in a palette of light gray and white, the high-end kitchen is filled with Thermador appliances, marble counters, and a large island with bar seating.

The lower level features a bonus space with a folding glass door that opens to the backyard. Set up as a media room with a flat-screen TV, the walls are decorated with some of Huff’s sports memorabilia and some guitars from his personal collection.

While the baseball memorabilia aren’t included in the sale, Huff says, “If the buyer pays full list price, he can have a guitar of his choosing.” Score!

The third floor holds the master suite, which is Huff’s favorite feature.

“It’s like having your own five-star hotel suite in your home, fully equipped with an outdoor deck,” he says. Two en suite bedrooms are on the lower level, and there’s a garage with a designated driveway.

The location of the home is also a selling point. A new owner will be able to “walk to the horse track, beach, and local bars and restaurants,” says Huff.

This isn’t the first time Huff has taken a big swing at selling real estate. In 2017, he relisted his Mediterranean-style mansion in San Diego for $4.4 million. It sold for $3,925,000 in 2018. The 8,144-square-foot abode had eight bedrooms and a lagoon-entry pool.

A fan favorite of the San Francisco Giants, Huff infamously wore a bright red “rally thong” in 2010 as a lucky charm. It worked: The Giants won the World Series that year, and in 2012. The Texas native played for a number of teams over his 13-year MLB career and swatted 242 home runs.

Huff retired in 2014, and joined the Pac-12 network as a baseball analyst.

Douglas Elliman’s Destiny Davis of the Eklund | Gomes team in L.A. and Janeane Mason of Douglas Elliman hold the listing.
